Gabrielle started off by stating that naturally, she is 6'3 and about 175 pounds; but after a recent surgery, she experienced some weight loss due to a lower amount of physical activity. Unlike most women who would be excited to find that they lost 15 pounds, Gabrielle was "bummed" because she understands the amount of work it took for her to build that weight in muscle. For her, weight represents "strength."
She also goes on to feature her 12 year-old daughter who stands at 5'10 and weighs 162. Her daughter was not ashamed to disclose those numbers that most women dread, but instead mentions that she was "glad!"
The important thing to remember is that we are all different. There are many factors that go into a person's weight that have zero significance to our worth! It is so much more important to think about our personal health than to stress about how much we weigh. Let's remember people, weight is actually just the gravitational force keeping us in place!
Gabrielle concludes her video by saying, "Some of us are bigger, some of us are smaller. The point is, we give so much to the scale when really we should be giving it to: how do we feel? Are we our own personal best? [Instead of] worrying about comparing or worrying about the scale."
Amen to that!
We LOVED seeing Gabrielle's refreshing take on weight because it couldn't be more true. A big high five and a "hell yeah" to these lovely ladies! This is what we want to see more of!
